The idea of the match between the two leagues was first suggested at the Islamic Relief Dinner hosted by Yorkshire County Cricket Club (YCCC) at Headingley after the devastating floods in Pakistan. The Quaid e Azam Premier Cricket League raised £2000.00 with the assistance of the league Executive Finance Officer, Adil Mehmood to help rebuild houses in Pakistan.
A further meeting was held at Jinnah Restaurant, Bradford before the start of the current season to agree the format, date, team selection and venue.
