Currently the forecast predicted for over the weekend is indicating we are likely to have some rain which will disrupt the games over the bank holiday weekend.
The information below will help both the club official and umpiring official to work within the league constitution.
Scenario 1 – Rain disrupts the game before starting the game.
Member clubs can not cancel the game before 1.30pm unless it involves a lot of traveling and that the two teams agree to cancel the game, if a league fixture is cancel the clubs will be awarded 6 points each. If the cup game is cancelled the two teams have to agree to play the fixture before the 23rd May 2021. The game can be re-arranged to be played during one day (only if both clubs agree) or if this is not possible the match has to be played over two evenings and each club will bat each evening. Both team have to play the same eleven players overs the two evening. Both clubs can agree play between 25 – 35 overs, if both teams can not agree the number of over they must play 35 overs
If the game is delayed due to rain the teams must wait until 3.30pm before the game can be called off.
Scenario 2. – Game start after 1.30pm
If the game starts before 3.30pm the umpires will reduce the overs based on the delay, the match will be reduced by one over for every 3 minutes (after the first 15 minutes) lost. The minimum number of overs for each club is 25 overs for both league and cup fixtures.
The team batting second will be given the same number of overs as the first team regardless of any further interruption due to rain. The game will continue if the light is judged to be satisfactory by the umpire.
