Minutes of the Annual General Meeting – Sunday, 14th March 2021

The government announcement of 22nd February 2021 confirmed that organised sport can restart from the end of March. ECB will be meeting to discuss some of the restriction that have to be consider to keep everyone safe.

The committee has agreed to hold the delayed AGM to discuss the following agenda:

Welcome

Stan welcomed all the members to the meeting and highlighted how difficult it has been over the past year for member clubs , players and their families. Stan thanked Basharat Hussain for organising the virtual meeting which was a new but interesting experience for most members clubs.

Committee Report

The committee members reflected on last season and the current situation with the league. Eight clubs had committed to the forthcoming season, with resignation from New Sanam and Scouthill. The committee highlighted that the position of Chairperson was now vacant and the committee proposed to it members to consider their nomination of Basharat Hussain who had assisted the committee in the previous season. Member Club agreed to appoint Basharat Hussain for the post of Chairperson.

Re-elect the committee for a further 1 year term
Basharat Hussain thank the committee members and the member clubs for putting the confidence in him to lead the league in a new direction, one that would promote cricket to the local communities around the Dewsbury, Huddersfield and Halifax areas. The newly appointed Chairperson also highlight that for the league to progress members clubs had a vital role in the leagues future.

Basharat Hussain also thanked Altaf Hussain for leading the league during the previous two years for his services to the league.

Finance Report

Stan confirmed the league financial position and also updated the member clubs for its application to ECB for the difficulties it had during the COVID season.

Proposed fee for the season

It was agreed to keep the fee the same as Season 2020 due to the difficult situation with COVID.
