Its been a busy few weeks for registration, since reporting the league had registered 200 new players on the 12th April and further 136 players have been registered since this date. The total now represents 29% of players who are new to the league. With the exciting and high standard of cricket played in the league more will continue to join the member clubs.
Another week of some high scores and interesting results, In the Premier Section 4 out of 5 fixtures all scored above 200 (an above average of 6 runs per over). Kashmir maintained their first place but dropped a point in today’s game against Subhan who did well to bat their overs out but fell short by 3 runs to secure another batting point. Whiterose chased Darulshafa target of 211 with the loss of 5 wickets, Waleed Akhtar second ton of the season was not enough of to secure a win for his club, whilst Diamond maintained their 2nd place in the Premier Section with a 27 run win over Karmand. Bhalot kept the pressure on Whiterose as they claimed maximum points against AK Eagles.
The Crescent section results were just as reverting, with three out of the five fixtures setting targets above 212, Rising Stars maintained their clean record with three maximum point wins and extend their lead as both Leeds Stallions and Scouthill both lost their respective games today. Northcliffe had a comfortable win over Nathia and move into second place.
Friends hosted Punjab at Almondbury who set a above par score but it wasn’t enough to secure them a win but they reduced the away side to 17 points to take them just one point above second place Rajpoot who secured maximum points as they had an easy win over Heaton Park. Both Central Leeds and Wakefield Stars secured maximum points as they had comfortable wins over their respective opposition, Mylahore Tabs B and Khan 2nd XI. Navid Ahmed took a hat-trick to secure a win for Central Leeds.
