New Points System and Single Tier League Table Structure – Season 2020
To deliver on our first core value of the mission statement the clubs voted in favour of introducing a new point system and implementing a single tier league structure to drive towards more competitive, entertaining and meaningful cricket for umpires, players and spectators. The new point system does that exactly by rewarding both teams regardless of the results, the old system didn’t reward losing clubs even if they lost by 1 wicket. The system will make clubs think strategically to get the most out of the system such as scoring within the banding structure, taking more wickets or losing less wickets.
The single league structure gives all the 16 teams in the Crescent and Star Section the opportunity to gain promotion in the highest and best standard of cricket played in the league with a round robin fixtures, followed by the play off’s and the final to decide the champion.
Its all to play for.
