League Committee approves 2 more applications for season 2021

The past three weeks have been busy for both member clubs and the league committee to be prepared for the forthcoming season.

The member clubs secretaries have been registering their clubs with the league to provide contact and home ground details in preparation for the season. COVID continues to claim lives and daily infection rates continue to raise concerns but we need to be prepared as we did in season 2020 for the wellbeing of players.

The committee approved the application from Wakefield Stars Cricket Club, which is a newly formed club supported by Batley Cricket Club (Member of the Bradford Premier Cricket League). It is the first registered club from the district of Wakefield which extends the league’s membership to the city and is another step towards its mission statement and core values. The league will now focus on communities around the Calderdale area Halifax.

The 2nd application made by Scouthill Cricket Club from Dewsbury was approved by the committee after players of the club encouraged the club management to join the the Quaid e Azam Premier League to play a higher standard of cricket. Scouthill CC was a very successful club in the Dewsbury and District Sunday Cricket League before deciding to join the league.
