With the current situation of the local lockdown and the passing of the one of the the founder members of Kashmir Cricket Club, Haji Mohammed Bashir, the league presented the championship trophy to the club during today’s final championship game at Jinnah Arena. For the club the loss of their founder member was a surprise as he was taken ill in early August and fought his illness for several weeks. The past few weeks have been difficult for the club as Haji Bashir’s presence was missed.
The club dedicated their historic win in the name of Mohammed Bashir, the league presented a Posthumous Spectator Award in appreciation of Haji Mohammed Bashir’s love for the game of cricket, to the league and most importantly for the support he gave to his club Kashmir Cricket Club (Dewsbury).
