With the announcement from the government last Sunday, allowing up to 2 individuals to play a sport at any one session the ECB have issued guidance for clubs to implement only where those responsible are confident that they can maintain the safety of the players, coaches and other individuals at the sessions. ECB guidelines for the use of outdoor cricket facilities in lockdown
As previously announced by the ECB no cricket will be played before the 1st July 2020 and with the recent announcement that the Pakistan tour has not been NOT been rescheduled the sign of the cricket season starting look promising.
The Executive Committee will start to discuss the options as previously highlighted (updated 3) with a view that the first league fixtures will be played on Sunday, 5th July 2020 (subject to ECB guidance).
As the situation develops we will keep members clubs, umpires and players informed of any developments. We will also consider and advise that individuals at high risk due to underlying medical condition such as diabetes, heart condition, respiratory condition may not be able to take part for the season as the health and wellbeing of everyone in cricket remains our No.1 priority.
