The meeting Chaired by Basharat Hussain and supported by Vice Chair, Mohammed Amir Majid and League Results and Registration Officer, Methab Azfal was very passionate with some strong opionins in the room. For the first time more than 16 member clubs put forward proposal to further improve the league and the standard of cricket.
The message from the Chair was not to be just another cricket league but one that evolves and to be involved with the promoting cricket to young and retired players. Member clubs were encouraged to promote their clubs to young players to attract them by playing with some of the best players Yorkshire and beyond has to offer in the Quaid e Azam Premier Cricket League. The message to members clubs was also for retired players to consider giving back to the game by offering to become umpires. In Season 2022 we had 12 new umpires who have been recognised for their high level of umpiring and we want to encourage more to be involved with the league. If you are interested please email umpiressecretary@quaideazam.org.uk with your details and we will contact you to discuss training.
