Last weekend Andy Grice, one of a senior umpire ran the London Marathon to raise funds for his chosen charity, Cardiomyopathy UK. Andy will be contribution his umpires fee for the charity and we encourage players to support this good cause and help Andy raise funds for the charity.


A very cold day for cricket but regardless of the condition Gemini Falcons set a record for this season with a target score of 398 for the loss of 9 wicket in their allocation of 45 overs. The second highest score was at the game between Nathia United A and Bradford Moor, Nathia United batted first and set a target of 297 in their 45 overs, Bradford Moor were bowled out for 241 in the 41st over.
Just 2nd week into the season and the results in the Premier Section have been interesting. Only three clubs maintain a 100% record, Whiterose, AK Eagles and Northern Warriors all secured maximum points as all three had comfortable win over the respective opponents. Rising Star convincingly beat Bhalot Strikers who have now lost both their matches. The nail beating match was that of Karmand and White Wolves A CC, Karmand CC chased a target of score of 261 with the loss of 5 wicket and crossed the line at the end of the 44th over helped by Asif Ayub (92) and Zareen Shah (50).
The competition in the Crescent Section was just as fierce as the trend of the Premier Section is replicated with just three clubs with a 100% record, Newly promoted Hanover, last year 3rd place Batley and and Nathia United A all secured maximum points and maintained this position at the top of the table. Ayaan CC secured their first win with just two wickets against Diamond CC whilst Batley narrowly beat Subhan CC by just 17 runs. Mirpur Royals A CC had a comfortable 5 wicket win over Brighouse CC.
Only Leeds Stallion and White Wolves maintain a 100% record but both team dropped batting points, both clubs had comfortable wins of their respective opposition, TABS CC and AQ Khan CC. New comers Secured Home CC lost against Nathia United B CC by 3 wickets chasing a target of 170 runs.
In the Star Section AMYA North East CC secure their 2nd win with maximum points and maintain the top spot with Hazro and Northcliffe in close 2nd and 3rd place respectively. AMYA North East CC beat Indus Bradford by 32 runs and bowled them out in the 37th over, whilst Hazro beat Bradford United playing at the Oval in Roundhay Park by 54 runs. Northcliffe continue to do well with a close win by just 2 wickets against new comers Yorkshire United. Friends CC secured their first win of the season with maximum points against new comer Kashmirians CC.
