Two very hot days for cricket with most matches having to have two drinks breaks to keep the player well hydrated. It was a probably just as difficult for the match officials as most would have umpired both days. Luckily the later stages of today was cooler.
As always with good weather comes high scoring games and a difficult day for bowlers who’s aim changes from taking wickets to reducing the number of runs conceded in each over and let the batters make the mistakes under pressure.
The gap at the top of the table has widen as AK Eagles lose again, this time to second place Whiterose by 181 runs, Bhalot Strikers had a easy win over Bradford Moor as they lost by 8 wickets. Can Bhalot maintain their unbeaten record or will Whiterose be able to stop them on the 25th June, a match to not to be missed. Kashmir have got back to their winning ways as they beat Rising Stars by 41 runs, Can Kashmir catch up with the league leaders to regain their championship title. Karmand won by just 21 runs against Heaton Park at Jinnah Arena and Great Horton Sport beat Darulshafa by 2 wickets to keep this place in mid table. Four of the 5 games in the Premier Section scored over 200 runs with Kashmir scoring the highest innings runs of 292 at Carlton Cricket Club.
Leeds Stallion secured their first win of the season at the foot of the Crescent Section as they beat Diamonds by 62 runs. Yorkshire Lions played well as they set a target of 183 but not enough to claim their first win and lost by 2 wickets against Kings XI Lahore. Its still very tight at the top of the table with just 5 points between 1st and 4th place. Scouthill won against Subhan by just 1 wicket to close the gap at the top. Rajput also lost against Nathia United who have now moved closer to the top half of the table.
Bradford Riders and Wakefield Star have now widened the gap at the top of the Jinnah Section table, both secure a win today and claimed maximum points against their respective opposition, Chach and AQ Khan. Central Leeds won against Khan by 64 runs and in the group match Mirpur Royals was the stronger of the teams as they beat Friends by 166 runs.
In the Star Section, Northcliffe maintained their top sport as the won against Indus Bradford by 3 wickets who have moved into second place. Third place Ghourghusti XI also won against AMYA to keep the pressure on the leaders in their respective section. Bradford United beat CAX’s XI by 89 runs.
