LSD Cup and Shield – Match Report

Luckily the forecasted rain arrived later than predicted and late enough for all the matches to be completed today in both the Cup Quarter Finals and the Shield Semi Finals.

The games today were either one sided or nail-biting finishes. Darulshafa won by 173 runs against Last year finalist Rajput at Park Avenue. Great Horton Sport also won comfortable as they beat Heaton Park by 8 wickets. Karmand won the toss at Hopton Mills CC against Scouthill, the last remaining team from the Crescent Section. Karmand scored the highest total of the day with 403 for 6 on what initially looked a bowler friendly wicket. Karmand bowled out Scouthill for just 83 runs. The final quarter final game between Bhalot and Kashmir was a nail-biting finish and Bhalot won by just 1 wicket chasing Kashmir total of 157.

In the Shield we have two new finalist, CAX’s beat Indus Bradford by 9 wickets as they chased Indus Bradford score of 71. The other semi final between newcomers Mirpur Royals and Tabs was the second nail-biting match of today as Mirpur Royal fell 6 runs short of Tabs target of 205.
