Match Report – 4th September 2022

As we approach the final week of the fixtures next week, one thing is for certain, congratulation to Great Horton Sport CC who have won 3 out of 3 in the play offs to gain promotion to the Premier Section for season 2022 and the championship title. Great Horton Sports CC final game is at home against Punjab who have lost 2 of their 3 games. Can Great Horton maintain their 100% record next week. It’s good to see a young and new side do so well and play amongst the best cricketers in the Premier Section. The second promotion place in the play offs is likely to be decided next week.

The Premier Section also enters it’s final week, and the championship isn’t decided. Kashmir play Darulshafa and need to secure 12 points, whilst Bhalot play Whiterose at Park Avenue. Bhalot have kept the pressure on Kashmir throughout the season with Whiterose but today’s defeat at home for Whiterose against AK Eagles risks them slipping to 5th place and chance not to qualify for The hundred for season 2023. Bhalot need to win next week to take championship if Kashmir lose, whilst Whiterose need to win to finish top four. AK Eagles just need to secure 9 points to finish top 4, whilst Karmand need to win with maximum points and hope either AK Eagles or Whiterose loss for them to have a chance to claim the 4th place.
