Match Report – 21st May 2023

At what point can a team field a 12th man?

12th man

A player arriving to the match 30 minutes after start time (eg after 1.30pm) will not be able to participate in the match, however the opposition captain can overrule the umpires to allow the player to play but teams MUST inform the umpires and opposition if any players will arrive after the start time (eg 1.00pm)

11a. If a player arrives after 30 minutes from the official start time of the game he will not be eligible to participate in the game as a player or a substitute. Both the umpires and the opposing captain must be informed if a player is expected to arrive late.

If a player experience an injury/illness during the match he can be substituted only if the umpires are satisfied that the injury/illness took place during the match and the team substituting the player lists the 12th man on the team cards. The umpires have the right to refuse fielding a 12th player if no 12th man is listed on the team card.

If any continuation cup games are re-arranged teams will be able field up to 5 substitute players (excluding the wicket keeper).

11b. If the umpires are satisfied that a player has been injured or become ill during the match, they shall allow that player to have a substitute acting for him in the field. However, for a rearranged rain affected continuation of a cup game, substitutions will be allowed.

No ball

The umpires will signal a free hit followed by all illegal (No balls) balls.

18a. For all matches any illegal ball (front foot, side line, fielding restriction breach and waist high) must be followed by signally a free hit.

Match Report

If any team have earned their respect it is Leeds Stallions who travel down the M1 to Holmfirth CC and then back up to Little Ribston off A1 to Rajput’s home ground due to some confusion. Both clubs were good sportsmen and it reflects the true nature of the league as well as its reputation for competitive cricket. For club information we update the ground details after the books have been printed on the league website – League Members – Season 2023. Please check and if necessary inform league of any update. It is home clubs responsibility to inform the away team if the ground details have been changed and must do so no later than 8.00pm the day before the match.
