After coming in 2nd place for three consecutive season in the Premier Section Bhalot Strikers finally became Champions for the first time and also with a clean sheet, they play Heaton Park in the final fixture who have a reputation for denying champions a 100% record.
The relegation decider for the Premier Section will go to the final games of the season, both Bradford Moor and Rising Star won today to give one of them the chance to avoid relegation and long with Heaton Park who play Bhalot in the final game of the season.
Congratulation to Kings XI Lahore who previously missed out many times in the play off to make it to the Premier Section but at last they have been the deserving team along with Nafees who are also promoted for Season 2023. Nafees play Subhan next week whilst Kings XI Lahore play Leeds Stallions at Garforth. Both teams need to secure maximum point to win the championship. Currently they are both on joint points but Kings XI Lahore having the superior net run rate and if they secure maximum point they will win the Crescent Section championship title. The relegation in the Crescent Section is a decider between Tabs CC and Leeds stallion, the winner of the final fixture with maximum point will avoid relegation. Tabs have the easier game of the two as they host Diamond CC whilst Leeds Stallion host Kings XI Lahore.
Congratulation to Indus Bradford for securing promotion to the Crescent Section as they won comfortably against AMYA by 5 wickets. Friends surprised CAX’s XI as they set a target of 285 in 40 overs and bowled CAX’s XI for 228 run in the 36th over. Northcliffe were also left disappointed as they lost in their group match by 84 runs against Wakefield Stars and also missed out the chance of a promotion to the Crescent Section along with CAX’s XI.
Congratulation to PKWA CC who won the Championship title of the Dewsbury and District Cricket League. Both Friends and PKWA were on joint points and todays final fixture between them was going to determined the champion, PKWA batted first and set a target of 164 as Friends bowled them out in the 35th over. Friends got off to a poor start as the lost early wickets and only three of their batter made it into double figures, they were eventually bowled out of just 108 runs in the 35th over.
