A great day for the Mohammed ‘Bill’ Saddique Shield final at Jinnah Arena Cricket Ground and an absolute flat track prepared by Nasa Hussain. Secured Homes lost the toss to Subhan who elected to bat. Subhan got of to a good start but then starting to lose wickets regularly and were eventually bowled out in the 38 over for 148 runs. An opening partnership of 132 between Usman Arshad (52) and Raqeeb Younis (72*) secured their 2nd consecutive Shield title in the 20th over.
From match a side the atmosphere at the ground was one of a carnival, Secured Homes arranged free food for all the spectators. The generosity of Mohammed ‘Bill’ Saddique family, Secured Home CC, and the spectators was simply unprecedented.
As most will know this year the league is collecting for Children of Gaza charity, previously we had received £250 but today was the league’s most generous day as we receive the following:

The league committee thanks everyone for their kind donations and particularly to Secured Homes who not only supported the event by attracted a big crowd, they also assisted the committee members to set-up and clear up at the end of the game. Members of their club helped with picking up litter around the ground and the changing room. Secured Homes CC are trailblazer who lead by example and not empty words of support.
