Not the best day for cricket, two of the league games were called off without a ball being bowled and those that started completed their fixture. Lets hope summer finally arrives and we can enjoy playing cricket without having to wrap up with additional clothing.
Cup and Shield Games
The cup games continue to be played during midweek. All the first round Shield were completed by the deadline and 4 of the 8 cup games for the first round will need to be played this week before the next round. If these fixtures are not completed then the result of the fixture will be decide by a ball out. Further information will be uploaded by Wednesday with details for the coming Sunday Cup and Shield Round due to Eid-ul-Adha which will be celebrated over 2 days, both Sunday and Monday of next week.
The Hundred Quarter Finals – due to be played on 11th June 2024
The scheduled T100 games can be re-arranged but must be played by the 7th July 2024 due to the delayed cup games.
Whiterose and Karmand are now both in joint 2nd place at the top of the Premier Section with AK Eagles at the top with a 15 point lead and have only dropped 2 batting points since the start of the season. All three clubs had comfortable wins and scored maximum points in today fixtures.
Bradford Rider lost today against Bradford Moor but maintain the top spot by just 3 points ahead of Brighouse Warriors who beat Heaton Park at Rawdon Meadows. A surprise win by TABS over Diamond as they have had a poor season but today’s win by 42 runs will have given the club some welcomed confidence.
Hanover extends their lead by 27 points at the top of the Jinnah Section as they beat AQ Khan by 192 runs at Roberts Park. They are likely to be the contenders for promotion to the Crescent Section.
The crunch game at the top of the Star Section between Brighouse Qalandars and United Friends was won by United Friends who elected to bat first and scores 232 for 9, Brighouse Qalandars fell 30 runs short as they were bowled out in the 43rd over
