Match Report – 6th September 2020

The first play off fixtures seemed to have sealed the faith of both Heaton Park and Kings XI Lahore missing out on the chance of promotion as they both lost to their respective opponents. Khan and Subhan bagged 19 points each to take them joint first place and go head to head next week to decide first and second place with the possibility the two teams may meet again in the Final for the championship challenge at Jinnah Arena (Karmand) on the 20th September 2020.

The championship title chase in the Premier Section took a turn as Bhalot game was suspended due to the conditions. Kashmir claimed maximum points to move into first place with Whiterose trailing behind by 3 points. After tomorrow the forecast for the rest of the week is good so all three will be looking to gaining maximum points in their fixtures next week. Who will be the league inauguration season champion?

Kashmir had a easy win over Diamond lead by Ibrar Latif (107no) unbeaten century and contribution from Faisal Javed (59) and Siraj Sajid (45) to set a target of 286 for 6 in their 35 overs. Diamond were all bowled out for 131 with an outstanding display with the ball from Abdul Qadir (4 for 29)

Darulshafa also won conformable as they secured another win to move out of the relegation zone, Sajad Ali (62) and Skipper Ayyaz Akram (52no) led the charge to setting a above par total for them to defend. Darulshafa finished on 225 for 7 in their 35 overs. AK Eagles fought well with contribution from Imran Malik (60) but it wasn’t enough as they fell 21 runs short of the total with Shahzada Khan’s (5 -29) excellent bowling that secured a win for this club.

Central Leeds had a better day as they set a target of 159 for 9 against Whiterose with performance with the bat from Akash Aurangzeb (52no), Whiterose’s batting was difficult to break through as they secured a six wicket win of their opponents.

Flix needed to win today if they were to remain in the Premier Section, Skipper Mohammed Altaf (62 no) batted with intent to help his club to a total of 137 for 6. Kamand chased the total with 2 overs to spare as they claimed 17 points to move into 4th place in the table.

Subhan had an easy win over Kings XI lahore as they limited them to just 102, some outstanding bowling from Ehtisham ud Din (4-25) helped to secure win over Kings XI Lahore.

Khan continued their unbeaten record as they won their first play off match against Heaton Park at Esholt Cricket Club. Khan batted first and set a target of 156 for 6 with an unbeaten innings from Mahir Ali (48 not out) in return they limited Heaton Park to just 107 all out
