Match Report – 26th June 2022

This is the final week to be able to transfer players between clubs in the Quaid e Azam Premier Cricket League, the deadline ends at midnight of the 30th June 2022, however clubs can continue to transfer from other Sunday affiliated leagues until the end of the season and throughout the year – YCB transfer guidance

Clubs wishing to transfer players from other Sunday Leagues must follow the same transfer procedure as we do internally by seek approval via text or complete the transfer form.

Member clubs has raised concerns of practices adopted by some clubs during the season and will likely be a AGM item as the transfer between clubs has increased in Season 2022. Last year 62 players were transferred compared to 78 this season. Although the league has limits between two clubs it may need to consider further limits to encourage more new players to the league and in particularly younger players.

It was unfortunate that there was confusion with the ground booking at Liversedge CC which cost Bhalot thier game and was completely out of their control and almost another double booking at Karmand. We have at least 12 clubs who share grounds and regularly check their home fixtures to ensure they do not clash.

The league issues fixtures regularly for umpires appointments as well as via the league website, clubs must check their ground booking to avoid home games clashing with other fixtures and also check with the teams they share their grounds with and notify change of venue as many clubs do regularly on the Club Secretaries WhatsApp group.

With three centurions in today’s highest scoring game, Cricademia scored 459 in their 45 overs for the loss of just 3 wickets against Chach CC at Arthington CC in Poole. Exceeding the previous record set by Nathia United CC.

The top of the table fixtures in the Premier Section it was as tense as the previous cup game between Karmand and AK Eagles, unfortunately for AK Eagles the result was the same as the cup game, they fell three runs short of the target and now drop to 4th place as Kashmir secured a comfortable win by 88 runs against Darulshafa and leaped to 3rd place. Whiterose now move to 2nd place, just 2 points behind Karmand who have led the table for the 2nd consecutive week, can they maintain their place at the top for the second half of the season, prevously dominated by AK Eagles. Rajput and Rising Star both had easy wins over the respective opponents to move them of the bottom of the table. Diamond and Bradford Moor now move to the relegation zone at the half way stage.

In the Crescent Section the teams at top half of the table played each other and the results have opened up the table, Yorkshire Lions beat Central Leeds and maintain first place whilst Subhan lost to Leeds Stallions who now move into 2nd place. Cricademia performance has now moved them within 25 points of the Section leaders, Yorkshire Lions. Last two year play off qualifiers Kings XI Lahore seem to be maintaining a mid table position this season, can they surprise us again and catch up to claim one of the two places at the top in the Crescent Section.

Heaton Park secured their 9th successive win and maintain their first place position with Nathia United moving into second place as they beat Great Horton Sport by 14 runs. Khan had a comfortable 118 runs win against AQ Khan to move into third place with Great Horton in 4th place as they have less outright wins the Khan. Northcliffe B won by 151 against Wakefield Stars to move into 5th place an an outside chance for top two places.

Kings XI surprised AMYA North East with a convincing win at Thorpe Audlin CC by 133 runs, Kings XI batted first and set a target of 260 in their 45 overs and bolwed AMYA out for just 127 runs in the 28th over. Northcliffe put in a perfamnce of the season to him them a chance to secure one of two place at the top as they beat top of the table Scouthill by 19 runs. Northcliffe are within a game of second place Punjab who scored 356 for 8 in their 40 overs In return they bowled Bradford United B for 170 runs in the 37th over.
