Match Report – 25th July 2021

The second semi final between Kashmir and Darulshafa was played at Park Avenue on Friday evening and the spectators that came to watch were not disappointed, the game went to the final over as Darulshafa tried to chase Kashmir target of 155. Darulshafa played aggressively in the first part of the innings and were ahead of the run rate in the early stage of the game and looked to be on track to causing a big upset as they got themselves in a good position. The game turned as Darulshafa lost a few quick wickets and Kashmir spirits were lifted. Darulshafa 5th wicket consolidated their innings but started to struggle scoring freely during the last 10 overs of the game as the run rate started to increase leaving them 11 short of the target in the final 30th over of the game.

The Final to also be played at Park Avenue on the 8th August 2021 will now be between Whiterose and Kashmir stumps at 12.30pm.

The top of the table remains unchanged as all three clubs secured maximum points, Kashmir beat Subhan by 79 runs, whilst Whiterose beat Darulshafa by 4 wickets and Bhalot won by 53 runs against AK Eagles. Both the forth place and the relegation remain very open as just 13 points gap separate the clubs.

In the crescent Section the race for the play off is most likley down to the top three teams as Leeds Stallion lost to Kings XI Lahore by 51 runs to maintain their second place behind Rising Stars who won by 243 runs against Amaan and maintain their 19 point lead at the top. Scouthill maintain the pressure in third place as they beat Indus Ghari by 20 runs.

The Star Section has become more interesting after the match between Heaton Park and Rajpoot, Rajpoot were all bowled out for 142 and Heaton Park chased the score with the loss of just 4 wickets. The win for Heaton Park has now extented the lead for Punjab in first place by 23 points and makes them more likely to gain a place in the play offs. Wakefield Stars have an outside chance to also play for the play offs as they got maximum points.
