One of two matches of the day at the top of the tables changed the chase for the top spot in both Premier and Jinnah Section.
AK Eagles hosted Whiterose at Spen Victoria which was streamed live, AK Eagles elected to bat and set a target of 146 in a tense match we saw Whiterose chase the target with just one wicket to spare. The win now opens up the chase at the top of the table between the top five teams with Karmand moving into first place as they had a a comfortable 7 wicket win over mid table Darulshafa. Bradford Moor secured their first win of the season to table them into 8th place above Diamond and Rajput. Rising Star were out played by Kashmir who won by 86 runs. Bhalot scored the highest innings total of 357 for 6 in today’s fixture with two century partnerships between M Akmal and Fahid Rehman and then M Akmal and Yasir Ali.
The match between Khan and Heaton Park played at Normanton CC didn’t go Khan’s way as Heaton Park who batted first set a above average score of 256 and dominated the match as they bowled them out for just 117 runs. Heaton Park now built a 39 point lead at the top of the Jinnah Section with Great Horton Sports now back into 2nd place as they had a convincing 127 runs win over AQ Khan. Nathia’s win took them into 3rd place above Khan who now slip down to 4th place.
The Crescent Section has been a roller coaster side for most clubs at the top half of the table, as at today Yorkshire Lions and Subhan both won comfortably and moved to 1st and 2nd place respective who are closely followed by Leeds Stallion, King XI Lahore and Central Leeds all chasing the top two places to go into the play offs. Kings XI Lahore win today against Central Leeds put them in a strong position for the play offs.
Scouthill remain unbeaten and extend their lead by 22 points as Punjab loose their second consecutive game. Can both teams continue to dominate their respective section or will Northcliffe A, AMYA North East and My Lahore Tab B steal the 2nd place. The next 6 games will be crucial for all six teams at the top end of the table in the Star section.
