Its was good to get back to a cautious normal after a short season last year, clubs & players will feel better for it. The past 18th months have been difficult for all of us whether that was because some of us contracted Covid, lost loved ones or had challenges returning home. Cricket has been one thing we all had in common and being able to play amongst friends and cricketing colleagues allowed us to socialise and play a game we all love so much. The weather has also been kind to us in this first full season and we only had a handful of rained off games.
No surprise as Kashmir Cricket Club secured their second championship in as many as years. Bhalot kept the pressure on Kashmir through out the season but Kashmir didn’t fall under pressure as the dominated the Premier Section particularly after securing the Cup Final. Khan struggled to field their best XI and couldn’t avoid relegation whilst Subhan who had a better season were relying on other to avoid relegation. Bradford Moor secure 18 points to avoid relegation by 7 points. Karmand secured forth place to qualify next year for the new competition with Kashmir, Bhalot and Whiterose.
The play off’s qualification remained unchanged as both Punjab and Rising Star secured first place, whilst Kings XI Lahore and Rajpoot both secured second place. All four teams will play over next two weeks to decide the Crescent and Star championship and promotion place. The two teams with most points will secure promotion and the team at the top will secure the championship title after completing both fixtures.
