1st League Game

Guidance for Preparation – 1st Game of the Season

To help some of the new clubs and remind existing clubs to prepare for their first season game, the league has listed below the steps clubs must follow:

Thursday, 16th April 2026
Home clubs to contact (text or phone call) their appointed umpires to ensure their availability, transport arrangement (if applicable) and confirm home ground details.

Saturday, 18th April 2026, 5.00pm
Deadline to request for player registration to qualify for game on Sunday, 19th April 2026.

– Players must create their our play cricket account, temporary account created by clubs on behalf of the player will be rejected.
– After the player has registered and added themself to the club they wish to register with must also request to be added to the Squad XI in play cricket
– Club Secretary must add the player to league registered player (Quaid e Azam PCL) as pending member for the league to approve

Saturday, 18th April 2026, 5.00pm
13c. In the event a member clubs changes their normal home venue (as printed in the handbook and/or league website) they must notify the away club and the league secretary no later than 8.30pm the evening before the day of the match. Failure to comply will results as a broken engagement.

Sunday, 19th April 2026 – before the Toss
– Club Secretary/Captain must update Play Cricket with their 12 players before the toss
– Club Secretary/Captain must complete the team card listing their 12 players before the toss and to hand to the umpires before the toss, remember to identify any under 21 year players
– All players must wear all whites including footwear (mostly white). Players wearing another colour footwear will not be allowed to play.
– both clubs to surrender the match ball to the umpires – A new Readers Sovereign/Special Imperial cricket ball must be used for each game, any second balls used in any match must also be the league approved Readers Sovereign cricket balls.

Sunday, 19th April 2026 – at the Toss
– 13b. The two captains and at least six (6) registered players must be present for the toss of the coin to take place 15 minutes before the start time. In the event of a captain and at least six (6) registered players not present and ready to take to the field the team will be deemed to have lost the toss. In the case where both teams are late they will be required to toss before they take to the field.
– Umpires to encourage positive behaviour on the pitch and ensure both captains are aware of their responsibility to promote positive behaviour.
– Umpires to remind both captains the 3 hour rule – 45 overs to be bowled within 3 hours, failing to bowl the required overs within the allocated time the fielding side will be required to bring a fielder within the 30 yards circle for each over bowled after 3 hours. The umpires has the discretion to award 5 penalty run for batter(s) wasting time.

Live Scoring – Play Cricket
– Any games failing to score live for the full duration of the game will automatically will receive a fine of £10.00.

Umpires match fee
– Clubs are encourage to make payment before the the start of the game and no later the during the tea break. The league has agree that the umpires will not begin the 2nd innings after the break until the umpires fee have been paid by both clubs.
– Both teams will be responsible for the payment of £45.00 umpire’s fee. The overall responsibility for the payment lies with the home team. For a match not played due to weather conditions the umpire’s expense fee will be £10.00 per umpire (or £5.00 per team if only one umpire is present). When it is necessary for an umpire to officiate at both ends, he/she shall be paid an extra fee of £15.00. If any appointed umpire has to travel outside his normal postcode he/she will be reimbursed by a further payment of £5.00.

Tea Arrangements
– The responsibility of tea is down to the home clubs who must provide free of charge

Fielding Restrictions and Point System

Field Restriction

Fielding restrictions will apply as follows:
0 – 10 Overs (first 10 overs) : 2 fielders allowed outside the 30 yards inner circle
11 – 35 Overs (between after 1st 10 and before last 10 overs) : 4 Fielders allowed outside the 30 yards inner circle
36 – 45 Overs (last 10 overs) : 5 fielders allowed outside the 30 yards inner circle

Points System

Win – 10 points
Loss – 0 points
Tie – 8 points (same number of runs and wickets)
Rained off – 6 points

After the game – Clubs
– Clubs to upload player headshot photograph for individual performance – Over 50 runs, 5+ wickets and partnership over 100+. Photograph must be taken during or at the end of the game with a background of the ground is only be uploaded. A new photograph must be uploaded every week.
– Clubs to ensure the play cricket scorecard is full completed before 12.00 (midnight)

After the game – Umpires
– If an under 21 player have been reported on the team card, umpire must upload a photograph of the team card to the Umpire WhatsApp group for the league results officer to award 1 extra point.
