Week Five in The QEASCL.
After Saturday’s showers, where majority of the games were washed out, the sun was certainly shining on Sunday with some fascinating results in the Cup week in the QEASCL. We begin at Rawdon Meadows where Heaton Park were too strong for the division 3 side Kings XI. Heaton Park Star Batsmen Shaukat Ali was in fine nick with the bat as he knocked his first unbeaten century of the season 160. Sohail Butt 63 also contributed to Heaton Park’s big score of 321-5 in reply Kings XI were all out for 124.
Heaton Park will now play newly promoted My Lahore who had a nail biting 3 wicket victory over Flix, chasing 228. Thanks to M Mazar who scored 64, & Zafar Jadhoon 44 not out.
Raja comfortably beat Yorkshire lions by 186 runs. Half centuries scored by Faisal Javed 64, Waleed Anjum 63no, Imran Malik 56, in reply Rohail Hussain ripped through Yorkshire Lions’ batting order taking 7-27 who were all out for 83. Raja will be away to Bhalot Strikers who comfortably beat TABS by 9 wickets. Earlier Tabs were all out for 45. Bhalot made 51 for the loss of one wicket.
OnQ beat Kashmir Dewsbury by 81 runs. OnQ were all out for 255 in reply Kashmir Dewsbury were bowled out for 174 with Wajid Hussain scoring 51. OnQ will be away to White Rose who beat division 3 side Central Leeds by 6 wickets. Central Leeds were all out for 101 in reply White Rose scored 102 with the loss of 4 wickets.
Darul Shafa had a 118 runs victory over Kashmir Bradford who were all out for 137, chasing 255 set by DarulShafa. Thanks to Saeed Hashmi’s fine knock of 87 and Ayyaz Akram 44 placed DarulShafa in a comfortable position. In reply M Zulfiqar hit 41, but with fine bowling from Amir Hamza who took 4-30 helped his side move into the quarterfinals away against defending champions Keighley RZM. Keighley RZM had Iqbal Khan to thank who was brilliant with bat and bowl. Iqbal’s 4-8 and 47no gave Keighley RZM a 5 wicket victory over Earlmarshall who were all out for 94 runs.
Adeel Ashraf was the only centurion in the Chefgenie Shield 1st Round. His 104 set Green Stars a target of 235. In reply Green Stars were all out for 164. Diamond will be away to Bradford Moor who beat Rising Stars by 19 runs. Bradford Moor earlier scored 134 before they were all out. In reply Rising Stars were 115-9.
Karmand beat EAM by 24 runs who were all out 147. EAM’s M Shanawaz took 4-46. In reply Adal Islam fine bowling who also took 5-43 helped his team bowling EAM for 123. Karmand will be away to Azad who had a bye. Also Indus Ghari who were amongst the teams having a bye will now face Shaheen who had a comfortable 6 wicket victory against Patriots. Patriots were all out for 64. Shaheen chased the score with four wickets down.
Punjab CC also cruised into the next round after beating Bradford Royals by 8 wickets. Thanks to Imran Malik who took 5 wickets for 20 restricted Bradford Royals to 114. Punjab reached their Target with the loss of two wickets. Punjab will face Style CC who beat Chach C.C 57 runs. Tariq Rashid taking 4-9 before Style CC was all out for 140. In reply Style bowler Mohammed Yasar destroyed Chach’s batting order, taking 5-6. Chach were all out for 87.
