The Quaid e Azam Sunday Cricket League named after the founder of Pakistan was founded by a group of cricketing enthusiastic from Dewsbury in 1980.

In the first year six teams from Bradford, Rochdale & Dewsbury formed the first section of the league.  Shezan Cricket Club was the first to win the section ‘A’ championship trophy. 

In 1983 the league created its section ‘B’, as well as the Shabab Cup competition and the six a side indoor competition under the leadership of Mohammed Tanvir.  Trinity Cricket Club was the first team to win Section ‘B’ Championship trophy & Section ‘A’ championship trophy in consecutive years.

In 2002 Section ‘C’ was created to meet the demand from clubs who wish to be part of a league that provides high standard of cricket.
